Interactive History

May 14, 2013

To honor the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library created an interactive multimedia documentary, laying out the full story of the Crisis in riveting detail through dozens of archival photos, videos, documents and audio recordings. Cloudsovercuba.com also offers a fictional “what if” scenario, allowing users to optionally access a heartbreaking short film that takes place in an alternate 2012 in which the Crisis escalated into nuclear war 50 years ago. By combining elements of a traditional documentary with an interactive experience, this site will change the way we look at history and help us to understand the way it impacts our lives today.
