NHL Helmets That Brings Life to the Undead

November 18, 2014

These days an NHL goalie is not only defined by his Goals Against Average (GAA) and his Save Percentage (Save %), but also by the artwork on his mask. Every goalie’s is different; some are used to intimidate opponents (i.e. Gerry Cheevers) or send a message, while others are, simply, just for fun. Behind every rendering is an artist and as of late, Franny Drummond is the artist all goalies in the NHL are talking about after his work on Philadelphia Flyers net-minder Steve Mason’s one-of-a-kind shield. Yes, the featured helmets are of zombies – zombies of all his Flyers teammates. Why? Why not? The possibilities are endless. To see more of Drummond’s work, give him a follow on twitter: @paintzoo. Rumor has it he’s working on a new piece for Steven Mason. Topping those zombies is sure going to be hard.
