The Chronicles of Apple

Apple can now add coffee table book to its extensive resume. The technology company has released a photography book chronicling twenty years of Apple design. Designed by Apple in California includes 450 photographs shot by photographer Andrew Zuckerman. Chief designer, Jony Ive, described the book as, “a gentle gathering of many of the products the team has designed over the years. We hope it brings some understanding to how and why they exist, while serving as a resource for students of all design disciplines.” The look book opens with the 1998 iMac desktop computer and chronologically moves through iMacs, iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and more. Each image is centered against a white backdrop, mimicking Apple’s minimalist packaging. The book is unquestionably another platform to showcase that Apple is unlike any other tech company, but it is also unquestionably justified. “The idea of genuinely trying to make something great for humanity was Steve’s motivation from the beginning, and it remains both our ideal and our goal as Apple looks to the future,” continued Ive. When it comes to industrial design, no one does it like Apple. The book is dedicated to the memory of Steve Jobs.
