Toy Story Franchise Shows It’s Still Got It

June 21, 2019

As if there were ever any doubt, Pixar has taken an early lead in the summer blockbuster game. The fourth installment in the Toy Story franchise hits theaters this weekend, and the box office forecast looks plenty promising.

Toy Story 4 is projected to make between $150 and $200 million across the continent in its opening weekend, which would be a historic number for the animation genre and one of the best showings of 2019 (sorry Woody and Buzz, you’re not quite going to beat Avengers: Endgame).

The film brings the whole band back together, with our favorite talking toys reuniting and making new friends (Keanu Reeves’ “Duke Kaboom”, for example) along the way. It so far has a stellar score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.

If there’s one thing Pixar does better than making good movies, it’s making good movies that generate plenty of Buzz – no pun intended.
