We’re going north!

SOUTH NORWALK, CT – Connecticut agency Milk* outperformed three other contenders to land strategic, creative and digital duties on Okemo Mountain Resort’s integrated marketing service account, to become AOR. The SONO (South Norwalk)-based independent agency will break new work this winter focusing on the Ludlow, VT resort’s position as a premier destination for busy families. “We understand the demands of a busy schedule and the conflicts that arise among members of active families,” said Ted Austin, VP of Marketing at Okemo, who recently returned to the mountain to lead the charge in the rebranding effort. “Milk was given the nod because their vision went beyond conventional advertising messages. They presented us with insights, ideas and creative solutions that will help us connect with families in ways we never have before. They are the perfect fit for us and will be an outstanding partner and brand steward for years to come.”

Okemo Mountain Resort, operated by Tim and Diane Mueller since the mid 1980’s, is the premier regional destination resort for families in the North East. Okemo, which consistently receives accolades for snow quality, grooming and top notch service, recently enhanced its family-friendly offerings with the addition of the Okemo Mountain Coaster, as well as a 180-foot magic-carpet-style surface that will help shorten the learning curve for participants of its Snow Stars beginners program.

“As an avid skier with an active family of my own, I was absolutely blown away at the lengths in which the entire Okemo Team go to accommodate the needs of visiting families with busy schedules,” said Joe Sequenzia, Milk’s founder and CEO. “We grew up skiing there, as our kids now are. Okemo has a special place in our hearts. We’re incredibly honored to be working with them as well as help all of New England further realize this amazing and unique place.” Details of the campaign are still under wraps, but the agency hints that social media, grassroots tactics and loyalty programs are heavily in the mix. “We want to integrate Okemo into the family experience in new and exciting ways,” added Milk Chief Creative Officer and hard-core skier Robert Redmond. “If we can’t bring the family to the mountain as often as we would like, then we’ll bring the mountain to the family, so to speak.”

Brands with strong family ties are no stranger to Milk*, which is also Agency of Record for Humphreys Baby, T.N. Dickinson’s Family Skin Care, multi-award winning Danbury Audi and New England Fertility, a leader in infertility care and research, amongst others. The creative-driven shop also recently helped energy supplier North American Power with the successful launch of its “Mission to Millions” campaign which allows families to lower the cost of their energy supply while helping to support worthwhile causes.
