And Just Like That… *SPOILER ALERT: Sex and the City Reboot*

December 14, 2021

For those of us that shamelessly indulged in the masterpiece that is Sex and the City, most of us were thrilled to hear that the show was coming back for round 2 seventeen years after the original series concluded. What we didn’t know was that the producers would kill off one of our favorite characters in the very first episode… Mr. Big. He was visibly huffing and puffing along on his Peloton, as many of us do, and suddenly had a heart attack. The reaction was less than ideal with many Peloton riders expressing a sudden aversion to use their bikes, and the Peloton stock even plummeted.

Peloton, who was unaware that Big would die after taking a ride, clapped back with a statement from Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum who explained that Mr. Big’s death was likely due to his luxurious lifestyle of late nights, cocktails, and cigars—not his Peloton. The company went even further and created a commercial with Chris Noth (Mr. Big), himself, where he appears alive and well. Actor Ryan Reynolds (prime choice, Peloton) performs a sped-up voiceover of the numerous benefits of cycling and then ends with, “He’s alive.” All we can do at this point is sit back with our popcorn and watch the drama unfold!
