Camp Winnipesaukee

August 15, 2017

When Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake come together, it is something of magic. It’s been just a few months since the last time Fallon and Timberlake donned their curly wigs and vintage T-Shirts for a trip to Camp Winnipesaukee. Well the campers are back and funnier than ever. The new sketch opened with Fallon and Timberlake in their beds after lights out, fighting to go to sleep. Between impromptu laughs from both Fallon and Timberlake (arguably the best parts of the skits), the dynamic duo began mimicking Linda Perry’s “What’s Up” in an octave-leaping, hysterical delivery. The head camp counselor, who is played by skit newcomer Keegan-Michael Kay, barged into the musical cabin irritated by the rebellious campers and the loud noises. Spur-of-the-moment laughter immediately followed before legendary Billy Crystal arrived serenading the audience with “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You”, leading to a group dance party with The Roots. Let’s be honest, a musical skit is always better when Crystal is involved. The bit is just over ten minutes long, but had viewers crying in laughter the entire way through. Leave it to Fallon and Timberlake to impersonate braces-clad, curly-haired kids sneaking in a bedtime sing-along to remind us all of the carefree summer days, even if it just for a short time. Because after all, life is more fun when there is singing, dancing, and genuine laughter.
