Don Draper Hangs it Up

March 2, 2015

After 7 seasons, May 17th marks the series finale of the critically acclaimed, Mad Men. Elizabeth Moss says the theme for the last season is change, but not in the conventional sense. “People do change, but in a lot of ways, they don’t, unfortunately”. Adaptation is key and series creator Matt Weiner is adamant about learning from past series endings. “I’m trying to delight them and confound them, and not frustrate and irritate them. I don’t want them to walk away angry”. There’s nothing worse than following a show for years, developing connections to characters, and then having those connections severed by a forced plot twist with no closure. Weiner has been outspoken since the beginning of the final season, stating that he wants to give viewers the answers they need. No stone will be left unturned. So, will we finally get to know the true Don Draper? As a hero in the on-screen advertising world, advertisers like us here at milk* will be tuned in to see what happens.
