First and Last Impressions

The opening and closing scenes of a movie are important. They set up mood, ask or answer questions, and can provide closure. Some might even say these shots are the most important to the movie as a whole. Jacob T. Swinney is of this mindset. In his latest project, Swinney took 55 films’ first and last shots and put them side-by-side. The end product becomes just as much a story as the non-abridged 2-hour movie itself. Check it out here.
