National Geographic Found

April 1, 2015

In 2013, Nat Geo started its Found collection, an archive of past and never-before-printed photography meant to highlight cultures and moments from our past. By bringing life to old photography, Found has captured the nostalgia of yesterday that transcends cultures. The collection is an archive of big moments – a Muslim wedding, deep-sea explorations – and small moments, equally as powerful. Found is a look into the unseen past. More than that, it’s a look into the unseen past of people completely different than us, exploring the facets of their lives. Despite the obvious cultural barriers, there is something oddly relatable about each photograph. Like the creators say, Found is, “… your home for creation and wonder”.
