Halftime Hits…Or Misses?

February 12, 2018

We love a good halftime show– this year we had Justin Timberlake sing his catalog of hits and it received a mixed bag of critique. Of course, Timberlake paid tribute to Prince during his set, in tasteful fashion, with 1908s-era images of the singer projected onto a billowing screen about the stage. While the half-time show is a staple of the Sunday bash today, it wasn’t until 1993 when Michael Jackson took the stage and changed the game. Stars like Britney Spears, Aerosmith, The Who, Shania Twain, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (to name a few!) have all had the opportunity to perform a must-watch concert. It’s hard to rank the performances since most performers pull out all the show-stopping moves – but Vulture did it for us. Without the mid-game show, it wouldn’t feel the Super Bowl we’ve come to know and love. Vulture has ranked the performances from worst to best since 1993. According to them, Prince had the all-time best performance in 2007 amidst pouring rain. There is a mix in between but they considered the worst performance called the “Disney Millennium Performance” with Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Igelsias, and Toni Braxton. Would you rank the performances the same as this list?
