Retailers As Our Resources

April 24, 2020

Gap Inc. is the latest retailer to announce that they will be using their factories to create personal protective equipment for healthcare workers who are dealing with severe shortages during the pandemic, “we will be pivoting resources so factory workers can make masks, gowns & scrubs for healthcare works on the front line.” The mega retailer joins designers such as Christian Siriano and Dov Charney, who also are using their production pipelines to create health care necessities. The mass shortage is threatening the ability of such workers to perform their duties and not get sick themselves. This significant movement, perhaps even a revolution of epic noble intentions, is underway in hackerspaces, makerspaces and sewing groups to come together and solve a problem to save lives at risk with the Coronavirus. How-to-sites like, Instructables, provides a step-by-step instruction on how to create face masks for our heroes. Be a part of helping our hospital heroes today.
